Buying Used Office Furniture

Unless you have to have new furniture, there's really no good reason to buy anything but used office furniture for your office needs. Especially in today's economic climate where businesses have been closing left and right, office furniture that has been used or slightly used and can sometimes pass for new is in abundance. Great deals can be had for a fraction of the price and many companies offer financing options and warranties. Installation is also offered standard by most used office furniture companies. The same thing applies in reverse for those in the often unfortunate position of having to sell used office furniture as a result of their business closing. It may be more difficult to sell at this moment due to the influx of used office furniture on the market. Start by contacting a used office furniture store in your area, they will most likely send someone out to look at the furniture and give a price estimate if they are not already overburdened with office furniture.

The Process

The first step for most people interested in either buying or selling used office furniture is to go online and search for used office furniture stores in one's area.  If you live in a metropolitan area, there should be plenty of stores serving businesses.  Some have a showroom that allows you to stop by to see what's available.  It's always best to be able to inspect furniture first hand as a picture cannot convey all the details.
Another option for buying used office furniture is to search for companies located further away that are able to ship to your area.  This is a less ideal arrangement, but it may be necessary it you are unable to find the right furniture for your office near by.  Some companies are able to ship anything from used executive office furniture to office cubicles cross country and it won't necessarily cost that much to do so.  Of course, it can be impossible to inspect the furniture beforehand, so get everything in writing to make sure the furniture is in acceptable condition.  Dealing with a well established and well run company is a good way to minimize any problems that might occur.  Check out testimonials and do an internet search using the company's name to see if people have had problems with the company or if they have had a good experience buying used office furniture from that company.
