Cooks Source, Judith Griggs, Facebook, and Great Evil
67The whole Cook's Source and Judith Griggs thing just shows how frustrated people are when they encounter people who are wrong, who won't admit they have done wrong, and try to justify their wrong as a favor they have done you. When we encounter it in our lives, it usually goes unpunished and there's not much you can do about it. The other person remains unapologetic and in most cases oblivious, and we stew in our inability to make them see what they have done.
The other person gets off scot free, as it were, and probably feels no remorse for their actions. They'll probably end up bad-mouthing you for "overreacting" or something similar.
We all Know a Griggs
Haven't we all run into this situation? It's one of the most infuriating casual or not-so-casual encounters you can have with people, and that's why *the world!* is pouring their anger on this so-called editor of Cooks Source, Judith Griggs. It's pretty obvious that she has committed similar transgressions to who knows how many people, and has probably gone away thinking she was in the right in each case. Now that her wrong is so obvious, and she has so many people telling her as much, will she be able to keep up her condescending attitude? Either this will make her see, or she will stick her head further up her ass to shut out the noise.
The Bigger Griggses
But I won't pretend to be too concerned about her welfare. It's up to her to get her life back on track. What interests me is the potential we have to really make changes that we want to see. Our politicians in the United States aren't doing it. You'll see- the democrats have lost the majority, but things almost certainly won't get better, just like they wouldn't have gotten better under Obama. Not if we depend on the politicians to get things done- remember that corporations can now contribute as much as they like to election campaigns thanks to the supreme court ruling passed this year. Our elected representatives are all in the pockets of giant corporations, mostly the really nasty ones like Big Oil, Tobacco, and Agribusiness.
Everyone can see that what Judith Griggs @Cooks Source did was wrong, it's obvious. But it's more complicated when it comes to corporations that use their influence to control government, to do things like contaminating our food supply with genetically modified food, and all that horrific stuff that people in the country (any country, really) don't pay nearly enough attention to.
So how about setting up pages where we can blast people like Monsanto, BP, etc? We the people have to do it, the media is owned by the corporations too and they aren't going to say squat. More people need to know about the issues, and there's no excuse not to with all the information at our disposal. Monsanto is exponentially more evil than Cook's Source, but how many more people are willing to blast Griggs than that multinational responsible for so much injustice and insanity? Any ideas?
