Make Yourself Drop-Dead Gorgeous with a Tankini

By

Got a hankerin' for a tanktop?  Want to don something sexy at the beach that shows your figure, but without being subjected to the almost-bare-all aesthetic of the bikini?  Then welcome to the world of takinis, ladies.  This swimsuit, though it covers up your midsection, can be every bit as appealing and feminine as a bikini- just ask the guys!  Some would consider it the nightgown to the bra and undies- it covers more, but leaves more to the imagination.  And what's better than the imagination for sex appeal?  Don't think of these versatile outfits as "modest" or old-fashioned- far from it!  Whereas your stomach is off-limits to the eyes, your derriere remains prominent in a bikini bottom.  And with a halter-top tankini, cleavage is also accentuated without being upstaged by stomach.  Still, they are usually low cut so that people can get a peek now and then, which can be very enticing to the male gender.  The tankini is all the rage these days and just wait until you see all the ones on the market.  Whether you are looking for something casual, stylish, or just irresistably sexy, there's a tankini out there to suit all women.  From supermodels to moms to supermodel moms, you can show off your body in style- and you don't have to have a perfect little tummy to do it.  Read on and wrap your mind around the wonderful world of tankinis.

A Tankini for Everyone

A tankini is basically a "tanktop bikini", that is, a bikini bottom with a top that does not expose the midriff. I told you that tankini swimwear is made for all ladies, and you will see that I am telling the truth. Choices like a maternity tankini, underwire tankini, push up tankini, padded tankini, skirted tankini, long torso tankini, and plus size tankini are just some of what's on offer. There are also tankinis for big busts, modest tankinis, long tankinis, and others. And that's not all- there are tankini shorts and tankini bottoms to go with that tankini top. Indeed, because the top and bottom are not connected, it is easy to mix and match and you have more freedom of choice than ever to create the most flattering ensemble when you go to the beach.  So what's with all these models of tankini and what are their merits? Let's take a look at some of the special ones and why they might be good for you.

The Choices Considered

A maternity tankini is obviously for expecting mothers. What's not so obvious is why it might be superior to other swimwear. A little contemplation of the pregnant female form makes it clear why tankini tops clearly beat both one-piece swim suits as well as bikinis. In terms of looks, the tankini can cover your belly. That's an easy one. Some people don't like to show the world their swollen belly (and some do, which is just fine) and a tankini top will cover their precious cargo whereas a bikini will leave it exposed, perhaps to be sunburned and cause unnecessry pain. One-piece swimwear, while it would serve the function of covering the belly, might look a bit strange depending on the style you want to go for. Besides, it is a pain to take off and put back on when you need to go to the bathroom- with a tankini, it couldn't be easier as the bottom is separate from the top (happily, this ease of use applies to all women tankini wearers regardless of whether they are pregnant or not).

With a skirted tankini, you still look the essence of femininity but with a bit more modesty- which is okay because of what we've already discussed about the role of imagination in attraction;).

A long torso tankini is great for balancing your body's perceived proportions. For women with long torsos, such tankinis will almost always be much more flattering than a bikini.

Underwire tankinis do the same work as a push-up bra, and are good for beach goers who want to be a bit more active due to the extra support. A push up tankini is one with basically a push up bra built in, which will obviously accentuate your bosom. The same goes for the padded tankini, though you should be careful that the model you choose won't soak up water and then leak it back out on dry land. Keep in mind that because you're more exposed in swimwear than when wearing your normal clothes, these breast-enhancing models may not look as natural as they would on the beach or by the pool.

Modest tankinis offer the coverage of a one-piece bathing suit but the convenience of a tankini. Tankinis may be considered more "modest" if they cover more of the midsection, and sport tankinis tend to expose less cleavage, as is true of many v-neck tankinis.

With all the variety of tankinis to choose from, it's going to be a modest, but no less hot and sexy summer at the beach.
